Walk Alone

Walking alone on this lonely stretch of road, Streetlights dimmed by the bright moonlight, Words spoken but meaning forgotten, Racing mind with thoughts unspoken. I longed for the day I met someone like you, I longed for the day I was loved by you, I longed for the day when I would be yours, Now I long for the day that my heart will forget you. A decade shared, a decade lost, A decade's worth of heartache, A decade's worth of memories lost, A decade's worth of time to heal. Lost in heartache, lost in rage, Lost in the pain of a decade's reign, Turned to a stranger to soften the pain, Felt a love unlike no other, Lost my heart to him none other. Days to weeks to months, Healed both mind and heart, Trauma snuck in and tore it apart, Mistakes made and lies told, This is how the story goes. What's meant to be will always be, What's meant to break will always break, What's meant to teach must be learned, What's meant to strengthen must be accepted. Walking alone on this lonely stretch of road, Streetlights dimmed by the bright moonlight, Words spoken but meaning forgotten, Racing mind with thoughts unspoken.
